When it comes to roof mounted, automatic satellite systems, these are the words you want to hear, especially when you're paying good money for a system that's bolted onto your dream getaway caravan, motorhome or camper.
HARDWARE DRIVEN BY SOFTWARE
Of course solid steel gearbox and components mounted on the roof of your van need to be able to handle the corrugations and potholes commonly encountered on Australian sealed and unsealed roads. However, software plays a vital role in driving this hardware.
From time to time (perhaps once every three years), updates are necessary to keep your Sphere satellite dish up to date. Not only is it important that updates can be easily installed (the Sphere features a micro SD slot), it's also important that the updates are locally available. The Sphere is supported by Coast RV, a subsidiary of Jayco and an Australia wide network of dealers can offer warranty and support if needed.
WARRANTY AND SUPPORT
What good is a warranty if you're in Darwin and you need to return your satellite system to Perth or Melbourne for a fault? What good is a warranty if your supplier can't be contacted and offers little in the way of support? Coast RV offer a 12 month warranty on all of their products including the Sphere and have a network of agents and distributors all over Australia. We offer unparalleled support during and after the warranty has long since passed.
USING THE SYSTEM
Simply turn the system on and let the Sphere search for and lock onto the Optus C1/D3 satellites anywhere in Australia. Simple to use and the best quality available (Korean electronics are highly regarded).
The Sphere's gearbox features steel worm gear with brass main gear. The dish reflector measures 85 x 90cm (edge to edge 86 x 92cm) so will provide good coverage Australia wide for reception of VAST or Pay TV (VAST or Pay TV set top box required and not included).
When in the home folded position, the Sphere is low profile at only 202mm and will sit lower than your air conditioner so no need to worry about clearance under your carport.
Easy DIY installation as it comes complete with aluminium mounting plate ready to be glued (Sikaflex) and screwed to the roof.
We can also offer a fitting service in certain areas so please call as we may even be able to install it at your home.
With a twin output LNB (device on the end of the dish) you can connect a VAST decoder or even a satellite Pay TV decoder and watch your TV at night while camping by your favourite river. Connect to a VAST decoder for access to all of the free to air channels. Consumption is only 2.5A while searching and then a mere 0.1A when locked on to the satellite. Powered via 12VDC too.
Total weight of the Sphere is 16KG up on the roof and 3KG for the indoor unit (IDU) and cabling. The IDU can be mounted on top or under a shelf.
Thousands installed on Jayco motorhomes as the Sphere is offered as an upgrade option at the time of purchase.
Most items are kept in stock in at all times. Orders placed before 12-midday on business days are usually shipped the same day. All other orders will be shipped on the next business day after the order is placed.
All shipments will have an authority to leave in a dry and safe place.
The carriers we use to deliver our orders include Australia Post and TNT. For larger items, such as our Mobile VAST TV Kits, we use TNT, which means that we are unable to send to an Australia Post post office.
Almost all of our carriers provide tracking numbers. If a tracking # is provided by the shipping carrier, we will update your order with the tracking information. Please note that some orders may not have tracking numbers depending upon the method used.
We offer nation-wide shipping on all of our products. Shipping will be calculated at the checkout and the size and weight of you order will be used to calculate the actual shipping price. At the checkout you will have the opportunity to cancel your order if you are not happy with the quoted shipping price. We retain the right to cancel any orders where the actual cost of shipping substantially exceeds our allocated rate.
If we cannot resolve the problem we will issue you with a Return Authority (RA) Number to track your return.
You will need to organise the return shipping and pay the shipping costs. We recommend that you use a method where the item can be tracked and we recommend you insure the item to protect your interests.
If we examine the item and it is confirmed to have a problem we will refund your return shipping costs so please keep your receipts.
If not fault is found with the item we will contact you to arrange for the item to be returned to you. Under these circumstances you will be responsible for all shipping costs.
If the item is found to have a fault we will discuss with you your rights to a repair, replacement or refund in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.
